Tour De Tuscaloosa (Fundraiser)
Time: 8:30 AM
Location: Downtown Tuscaloosa
The “Tour de Tuscaloosa”, Tuscaloosa’s largest cycling event, will be Mar 27-28. With over 400 cyclists expected to race over the weekend, it will be the largest group in the event’s 4 year history. Criterium begins in downtown on Sat at noon with races every thirty minutes until 8pm. The start/finish line will be at the corner of 4th and 23rd downtown. Road Race begins at 8:30am Sun at Lake Lurleen State Park. There will also be at one mile “fun run” on Sat at 4 on the racing course. Benefits from the fun run will be given to the Tuscaloosa Police and Firemen’s charities, Pride and The Miracle League. Over 2000 visitors are expected for the weekend. Parts of downtown will be blocked off for the race and there will be many opportunities around there to view it. 4th Annual Rubber Duck Derby (Community Event)
Time: 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Location: UA Outdoor Pool
The Children's Hands-On Museum presents the 4th annual Rubber Duck Derby! Tickets are $5 and include admission to the Derby and the "Ducks in a Row" Carnival.
Sakura Raku Pottery Workshop (Art)
Time: 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Location: Kentuck Museum
Join Kentuck for a Sakura Raku Pottery workshop, sponsored by the UA Sakura Festival. This special event will be held Saturday, March 27th, from 2pm to 6pm. 15 spaces are available. Call 758-1257 to register.
Tuscaloosa Walk MS (Walk)
Time: 2:00 PM
Location: Annette N. Shelby Park
Join us for an afternoon walk in the park! Tuscaloosa Walk MS will take place at Annette N. Shelby Park on Saturday, March 27, 2010, and will offer a one mile and three mile option for all participants. Check-in opens at 2 p.m. and the walk will begin this year with a shot gun start at 3 p.m. The celebration will continue at Annette Shelby Park with refreshments, announcements, awards, and entertainment.
