About Boating Safely (Community Event)

The West Alabama Flotilla of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will be offering the About Boating Safely course to area residents this month. This course consists of two classes which will be taught Thursday, March 25th and Tuesday, March 30th from 6:00-9:00 PM at North River Marine (205) 339-9190 in Northport at 600 64th Ave. The cost of this class is $20.00 per student (includes textbook). Attendance at both classes is required in order to graduate. This class fulfills the education requirement to obtain the Alabama Boating License and may entitle students to a reduction in boat insurance costs (please check with your insurance provider). Advance enrollment for this class is recommended as there will be a limit of 30 students. Please contact Ward McFarland, Jr. at 759-5161 to sign up.
